How Events On Pine Turns Downtown Long Beach Into a Wedding Setting
When couples first step off the elevator at Events On Pine, they usually pause for a second before saying anything. That reaction is exactly why we built this space. We're Tre and Jason Watson, and as long-time residents of Long Beach, we wanted a venue that reflected the creative, layered energy of our city rather than another template ballroom. Our story actually started at home, opening our own doors for small gatherings and workshops, before we moved into the third-floor space on Pine Ave that couples now book for their weddings.
Events On Pine occupies the third floor at 140 Pine Ave in Downtown Long Beach, offering couples exclusive use of a single-level venue with city views, a rooftop patio, private suites, and a built-in bar, accommodating up to 150 seated or 200 standing guests. Three customizable package tiers, Essentials, Signature Collection, and Luxe Experience, scale from a basic venue rental to full catering and coordination, with an open vendor policy for florists and caterers while bartenders must come from the approved RBS-certified list, and couples can hire their own day-of coordinator or use the venue's in-house option.
What a Wedding at Events On Pine Actually Looks Like
Downtown Long Beach gives your wedding a different kind of backdrop than the beach clubs and traditional ballrooms scattered around Southern California. Our space blends historic charm with modern elegance, so the room already has character before a single flower is placed. Natural light pours in throughout the day, and the city views facing Pine Ave give guests something to look at between toasts. It's an urban setting, but it never feels cold.
Exclusive Use of the Venue
One thing couples ask about early is whether they'll be sharing the space. When you book Events On Pine, the venue is exclusively yours. There's no second event running down the hall and no unrelated guests wandering through your reception. Your wedding party can move through the space freely, your vendors can set up without working around strangers, and your guests get a room that feels like it was built just for you that day.
The Space and How Your Guests Move Through It
Our floor plan keeps the amenities on one level, so guests aren't hunting for restrooms or navigating stairs between the ceremony and reception. The room comfortably holds up to 150 guests seated or 200 standing, giving you room to plan a formal dinner or a looser cocktail-style celebration. A rooftop patio offers a change of scenery during the event, private suites give you and your wedding party a place to get ready, and a built-in bar keeps beverage service centered and easy for staff to manage.
What Your Wedding Package Includes
We offer three tiers, and every one is customizable. The Essentials Package is our blank canvas option, built for couples who mainly want the venue itself for a full exclusive rental with standard setup and teardown windows, along with access to our preferred vendor list. The Signature Collection builds on that with extra setup hours, a one-hour rehearsal, in-house furniture and rentals, and full place settings. The Luxe Experience adds upgraded linens and furniture, parking validation, bartending services, and a served buffet through our preferred caterer, plus staffing and in-house coordination of your preferred vendors. A day-of coordinator is required for every wedding, no exceptions, and a ceremony room rental fee applies to any ceremony plus reception booking.
Choosing Your Vendors
We run Events On Pine as an open venue, so you're not locked into a single caterer or florist. You're welcome to bring your own florist, decorator, planner, DJ, or caterer, as long as they're approved ahead of time and carry liability insurance. Bartenders are the one exception. Alcohol service has to come from an RBS-certified bartender on our preferred vendor list, which keeps the bar running smoothly and safely for everyone on the guest list.
Parking and Getting Here
We're minutes from the Long Beach Convention Center and several major hotel chains, which makes things simple for out-of-town guests. Validated parking is available with a fee, along with a valet located right outside the venue on Pine Ave, and additional paid parking within walking distance for larger guest counts. The venue is also accessible by elevator, with accessible restrooms on site.
Conclusion
A wedding day should feel like yours from the moment your guests arrive to the last dance. That's what we set out to build on the third floor of 140 Pine Ave, a private, exclusively yours space in the middle of downtown Long Beach that adapts to how you want to celebrate.
Come walk the space at one of our weekly open house tours, held Mondays from 5 pm to 7 pm and Wednesdays from 11 am to 1 pm, with Friday appointments available on request. You can also reach out anytime at info@eventsonpine.com to start planning your date.
